Toki Tori 2 (Sniper)
Genre: Puzzle
Developer: Two Tribes B.V.
Publisher: Two Tribes B.V.

Graphics
Toki Tori 2 has artwork that's very reminiscent of the stage designs from the original, except the levels are more flowing, so the visuals look less tile-based than the first game. Some neat dynamic lighting effects have been added to the mix, and the overall aesthetic is clean.

Sound
The first game followed more of a 90s mentality, with thematic songs that were associated with each area, and that looped in a static manner. The sequel follows more of a contemporary paradigm, with ambient styled dynamic music. Toki Tori 2 is hardly an aural tour-de-force, but it never grates either.

Gameplay
Toki Tori 2's world seems to flow together; stages are still dilineated, but branching two-way paths make everything feel connected, almost like a Metroidvania style game. The player character only has a small number of abilities, but those can be combined in interesting ways throughout.

Overall
Toki Tori is to Sonic the Hedgehog as Toki Tori 2 is to Sonic Adventure; the themes between the two Toki Tori titles are similar, as are the character designs and the world. But the gameplay components have all been put together differently, and the result is a game that feels different enough from the original to have its own identity.
